Latin Word(s) of the Week: palma (PAHL-mah) – palm. This one is easy! Our English word palm comes from the Latin (and also several other languages) all of which sound the same or similar. Isn’t that interesting? And the word for palm, as in palm of the hand, is the same as the palm tree in several languages, including both Latin and English.

Notes: We are scheduled to have class, but due to the Palm Sunday procession, there is a very good chance class may not happen. If not, please study Lesson 20 — and study it well! Our next class time will be May 5th – and we will have a quiz on Lesson 20 then. That gives you all plenty of time to study Lesson 20 (and start Lesson 21). In fact, with only 5 minutes per day on Lesson 20, that’s approximately 105 minutes, or more than an hour and a half of study time. Certainly enough to learn your Lesson well!

Homework: Review Lesson 20 and skim Lesson 21.
