BC2 Assignments 2 February 2020

Latin Word(s) of the Week: labor (LAH-bohr) – work, effort. We have a lot of work in the next few weeks. This word has made it intact straight into English — called a loan word. There are many derivatives in English too, laborious, laboratory.

Bible Reading: Psalm 50

Classwork: Quiz today on Lesson 29. Since class may be shortened or cancelled due to procession and more, this may be a take home quiz. If that happens, please take the quiz with closed books.

We also have a bit of change for the next few weeks. Besides being crunched for time today and on the 16th because of Confirmations, we need to double up on some Lessons to fit them in this year. Our Lessons this week are all of Lesson 30 and the first half of 31 (up to and including Question 415). It’s imperative to read the Catechism at home. If classes are short or missed, then there is no other way to keep up with our obligations than to read at home.

Homework: I hope by now, you’ve internalized the habit of copying of the questions and answers; it should be a second nature. We have a length bit of work ahead of us. I am not formally assigning this homework today – but it is a very good practice and I highly suggest you continue it. Copy the answers, say them out loud. This reinforces the knowledge in three ways – by writing, by saying, and by hearing.
